Your submission to the Emerging Technologies Team will help us determine if your new technology or engagement approach should be explored for inclusion in the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program. We review concepts to determine potential for energy savings, cost-effectiveness and broad market applicability. Types of concepts include new technologies, program designs or outreach strategies. These concepts could be explored and tested through a combination of several methods:
- Primary research
- Savings measurement
- Technology installation
- Customer engagement
If proper documentation to support energy-savings claims is not available, the team may request additional information.
When organizing your concept in a proposal, you should utilize market research and knowledge of current ComEd energy efficiency offerings to understand how your concept could fit into the larger ComEd Energy Efficiency Program. Additionally, consider the methods by which you would like to test or explore your concept, and how those methods might fit together in phases or stage gates of implementation.
Register as an individual or as an organization and submit your proposal through our portal. A proposal template is available for your convenience in submission. We’ll reach out with questions or provide you with an update within 4-6 weeks.
Approved proposals are converted into formal scopes of work, contracted with ComEd or its subcontractor CLEAResult, and implemented according to their scope. Project partners work closely with the Emerging Technologies Team to ensure their concept testing and exploration are producing actionable results for the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program.
