Two separate research projects for commercial and residential customers will explore how ComEd might use a normalized metered energy consumption approach to identify customers with high energy savings potential.
The objective of both of these projects is to use existing normalized metered energy consumption (NMEC) data to identify high-potential opportunities for energy savings. Using historical usage data, the project teams will identify ComEd customers with the highest potential for energy efficiency improvements applicable to the identified programs. Historical participants will be split into a control and test groups and ComEd will observe the research teams’ abilities to identify deep energy savings potential.
